Choosing the right floor for your project
Picking the correct flooring is more complicated than just finding the best looking product out there. Many other factors such as durability, moisture and cost can influence your decision when choosing the right product. We have a 4 step system to help you make the right decision for your next project.
- Do you have pets?
– If yes: You may want to consider flowing that is more durable and wear-resistant instead of a hardwood floor that is easily scratched. If you have larger pets, we recommend tile, laminate, vinyl or even carpet for you.
– If no: The choices are still open, although a more durable flooring is always a good option it will depend more on the space. - What is your budget?
– If high: Engineered and hardwood flooring, luxury vinyl and imported flooring are for you!
– If low: Laminated flooring, tile and some vinyl flooring will suite you well. - Will the area have a lot of moisture?
– If yes: This is a job for high moisture rated flooring such as concrete, vinyl or tile.
– If no: Any flooring type is good for you! - Is maintenance an issue?
– If yes: Go with something more life proof such as vinyl or tile flooring. Laminated flooring is also a good choice, but when cleaning laminated floors you have to use special cleaning product to protect them as they aren’t as durable.
– If no: Solid and engineered flooring will look great, but they do need more care when it comes to maintaining their look (although some manufacturers state otherwise).
Now that you have a flooring type chosen, you can work with your style (colors, patterns and textures) to create a beautiful space for your next project.
